The Lyons Creek Course This portion of the rowing course is approximately 1,500m, narrow and has some bends. Boats are to travel at a very slow speed and passing is strongly discouraged. The original club location is located near the left of the picture. The Greater Niagara Boat Club Marina is located at the right. At this marina is the entrance into the main rowing course, the Chippawa Creek. The Lyons Creek course is shallow and well protected and allows rowing on even the windiest days with calm water. This is an excellent section of the rowing course for teaching novice rowers the skills of of the sport or taking experienced rowers on days when the Chippawa Creek course is rough. This course is not used often anymore due to the location of the club moving to our larger facility in George Bukator Park.
The Chippawa Creek Course (East) Entering the Chippawa Creek course from Lyons Creek rowers have the option of heading east into the historic village of Chippawa. Stay on the north side when heading west keeping the shore on your starboard side.
The Chippawa Creek Course (West) Entering the Chippawa Creek course from Lyons Creek rowers have the option of heading west. Stay along the north shore while heading west keeping the shoreline on your starboard side. This section of the course is over 4km long with gentle bends.
