This program is designed for athletes that have developed the rowing skills necessary to begin training and for participating in competition. Rowing experience is required to join junior/senior rowing. We recommend participating in our Youth Rowing program to gain rowing experience.
Athletes will begin the session in a variety of boat sizes with different crew members. As athletes progress through the season, opportunities to compete in different boats will depend on the competency and dedication of the athlete(s).

Please watch the safety video provided by Rowing Canada for more information before continuing with your registration. Athlete’s who do not watch this video in it’s entirety are not permitted to be on the water.

Upon completing this video please proceed to the registration below.
Niagara Falls Rowing Club will reach out to you once you complete the registration. Payment can then be made by cheque or e-Transfer to niagarafallsrowing@gmail.com

Sessions

Session 1: Spring Junior Rowing

This session runs: March 31st to June 2nd 2024
Practice times: Monday to Friday evenings (sunset will shift practice times) and Saturday mornings, Sunday will be the team’s off/recovery day. Athletes are expected at 6 practices per week for about 2.5 hours per practice.
Note: Racing uniform, personal travel, and accommodations are the athlete’s responsibility when participating in regattas outside of the area. Current athletes may begin their spring training earlier if all fees are paid from the winter session.

Mandatory swim test for all high school athletes will be March 4th 2024 @ 3pm at the Boys and Girls Club on McLeod Road, Niagara Falls. Please bring the $5 fee in cash on the day of the test.

Cost: $597.00 ($528.32+HST)
Register with Rowing Canada Space is limited to 30 participants


Session 2: Summer Program

This session runs: June 10th to August 13th
Practice times: With students still in school during June, practices will be evenings during the week and early mornings on the weekend until classes/exams are complete. Practices will then be early mornings all throughout the summer.
Note: Racing uniform, personal travel, and accommodations are the athlete’s responsibility when participating in regattas outside of the area.

Session 3: Fall Program

This session runs: September 5th to October 29th
Practice times:
>Monday to Friday from 6pm to 8:30pm (practice times will shift earlier as we lose daylight in the fall)
>Saturday mornings from 6am to 8:30am
>Sunday will be the team off/recovery day
